The Monticello-Union Township Public Library is hosting the annual Broadway Art Show July 26-27. With over 60 Indiana artists will exhibit and sell their artwork. Enjoy a diversity of art media from paintings, sculptures, pottery, jewelry, photography and much more. For the library, the Broadway Art Show has been an immense support to offset the cost of building and grounds repairs. In 2023, the art show profits provided funding to install an accessibility ramp at the entrance of the library. Join  MUTPL Library and the Monticello Parks Department in celebrating Smokey the Bear's 80th birthday.  We will meet at Altherr park for fun and learn a few new things.  We will cover all the activity badges from the Beanstack challenge.  Campfire safety, Career Exploration, Learn about Smokey the Bear, Nature Adventure and Tree Exploration.  Many other groups will be partnering with us to make this evening a fun filled night.

School’s back in session! And so are weekly teen programs! Join us as we get to know each other through some classic group games!

Classic children story fans please join us in the 2nd installment of exploring a classic children's book made into a movie.  We will explore the culture presented in the book and talk about how we feel the filmmaker  interpreted the storyline. Kids are encouraged to dress up in the era of the book for fun.  Popcorn and snacks will be provided.

Interested in the art of charcuterie? You’re in luck! Hillary Hawkins of Purdue Extension will be by on August 15th to present a class on charcuterie boards– while keeping both taste AND budget in mind. The class requires registration, and is for any one 18 years old and up. Tickets are $5.00. This class begins at 6:00pm, so don't be late! Contact the library for more information on how to get your ticket before they’re sold out!

In this program, we will be “hacking” paintings. Hacking a painting is when you take a painting that is already created and add to it. We will be taking already created art pieces and adding our own spin to it!
